Además, destaca la zona de cócteles, una propuesta arriesgada ubicada
en la capilla del convento, que conserva su aspecto primigenio, en la
que se ha instalado una original barra de copas de cristal en el espacio
que ocupaba el altar.

43 A 19th-century convent in Mallorca has been turned into this
select hotel that follows the solemn line of the building, without falling
into an excessively ornate style, but retains the characteristic elements
of architecture as protagonists of interior design.
The company decorator of Vical, Antonio García Treviño, has been res-ponsible
for this project that aims to create a link between interior de-sign
and the pieces of furniture, and the site of the location. “The Me-diterranean
style, the noble materials and natural textures are the axes
with which Vical has worked,” explains the interior designer. Sandstone
facades, stone arches at the entrances, vaulted ceilings or the convent
chapel are some of the original elements that have been preserved and
that make sense in the interior design concept of the Creu de Tau Hotel
“The refurbishment of the convent has been spectacular,” says García
Treviño, “the building has a huge aesthetic force, with large spaces and
high ceilings where the furniture shines more.”
Elegance is the premise
Hotel Creu de Tau Art&Spa has 27 rooms, all of which are suites with
built-in jacuzzis and outdoor spaces. These suites maintain decorative
consistency thanks to the furniture made by Vical of noble woods and
linen upholstery: capitoné headboards for beds, shoeless Provincial style
footwear of pine wood with silver studs, or large style classic rugs.
The rooms are distinguished from each other by means of details in some
pieces that incorporate velvet, elements in gold and tones that search for
contrast between green, blue and pastel shades. Meanwhile, in common
areas such as the cafeteria, furniture and Art Deco-inspired materials,
such as Brilon de Vical armchairs, with geometric shapes, made of ochre
tones and legs in black and old gold, have been selected. Also, large
mirrors with a baroque inspiration and golden tones, or floor ball lamps
that combine gold and white colours with marble and glass stand out.
In addition, the cocktail area is a highlight, a daring space located within
the chapel of the convent, which retains its original appearance, and in
which an original glass cocktail bar has been set up in the space occupied
by the altar.
