xury, the 80 rooms of the Room Mate Alba incorporate a palette of cooler
colours. Greenish blue, turquoise and white prints “refresh” the interior
design, accompanied by solid oak wood that decorates the headboards
and cabinets, with a decoration of licks reminiscent of the Bauhaus. This
ubiquitous wood forms plinths and mouldings that blend with painted
papers: smooth in blue tones with gold texture, and in the high part as a
floral frieze or Op Art, different in each room.
Lorenzo Castillo says that “the use of this nineteenth-century eclectic style,
very extensive in Europe at the time, seemed to me something new and
out of fashion. It is very Madrid and at the same time very international”.
In fact, the maximum reference for this project was the Royal Palace of
Madrid. A challenge for a project of interior design with ambitious visions.
