43 You were a painter rather than a designer; do you think
that that particular conception of spaces is what differentiates
your projects?
Well, possibly, but the truth is that I haven’t stopped to think about
it. Painting gives you a flat chromatic and environmental base, in 2D,
which is very useful for projecting. Then the project is the evolution, is
the representation in volume, the tangible picture.
What type of areas do you enjoy designing most?
All of them. Each one presents its own challenges and that makes it unique.
With which client -or project- have you felt most comfortable working?
52 spaincontract. Coffee Break. Lázaro Rosa-Violán
With many, I think that when you like what you do you always enjoy it.
It is true that there are “critical” and some very nervous moments, but
they are only a few minutes, and in the end, what counts is the result
and customer satisfaction.
How do you develop the creative process for each client in the
studio?
It all starts with a conversation. The client explains what he wants, what
he imagines and what he needs, and once we are clear on those points,
we begin the process. We analyse, we search and we start to design.
What does luxury in interior design mean for you?
Not having the same things that everyone else has and feeling comfortable,
as if at home.
