Energetic and audacious are the words that define the interior design of this hamburger restaurant in the centre of
Valencia, which is inspired by the aesthetics of Dutch and Central European Burger Bars. The interior design and
graphic design project were born from the collaboration between Samaruc Estudio, formed by Pablo Pérez and Fran
Sabater as interior designers; and Creatias Estudio, with Carlos Sánchez at the helm, in charge of the design of the
entire graphic universe.
“The owners were looking for an informal,
contemporary, playful and attractive place
that would invite you to return and that
would live up to the quality of the product
and the food they serve,” explain the interior
designers of Frankie’s Burger. A gastronomic
space that reinforces the user experience that
encourages its concept of customizable burgers.
This interaction between the customer
and the kitchen staff designing the menu is
reflected in the interior design project: vibrant,
rich in materials and contrasts, with
careful, warm, lighting with retro airs. The
interior design colour palette starts from the
graphic project, where red is the hard core of
the idea, reflected in the kitchen, the heart of
the project and the centre of attention of the
premises. A completely open and integrated
kitchen in the first room, with a large internal
work-bar, which at the same time serves to
provide customer service and attention, and
is a show in itself.
The large-format flooring in cement grey
and graphite unifies the space and forms the
neutral base on which to launch the project.
The bar, counter-bar and kitchen, lined with
square tile in glossy black, cream and burgundy
red become the heart of the premises.
Meanwhile, a wavy galvanized sheet frieze
runs through the entire lower part of the premises,
topped with a ‘couture wood’ plywood
top with indirect lighting.

A changing environment
“The peculiarity of the restaurant in terms of
its distribution and the division of the room
into two spaces, served as an excuse to create
differentiated environments where colour,
lighting and graphic resources achieve a changing
environment”. Tables of various formats
in black, bleached oak and ‘couture wood’ reinforce
the warmth and comfort sought, contrasting
with each other and visually enriching
the whole. The chairs come in three models
inspired by the 30’s and 50’s combining wood
and the colours that they share with the tables,
introducing the tobacco-coloured leather
upholstery, which is repeated in the large benches
in both rooms.
