RESUINSA
Diving among Posidonia Sea Plants
A place inspired by Mediterranean Posidonia which creates a unique ecosystem, where the traveller can
surround himself with sustainable materials and can find an oasis of peace and tranquility. This is going to be
the space that Carmela Martí and Resuinsa are going to design for the 2022 Interihotel Fair, from October
5th to 7th in Madrid.
Carmela Martí, an expert in textile interior design for contract,
will present the Posidonia room at Interihotel, in collaboration
with Resuinsa. Fabrics made from recycled fibers from plastic
containers are going to be key elements. Fabrics that form part
of the collection of the same name by Carmela Martí, and offer
a sustainable solution to all the decorative textile needs of hotels:
from curtains and blackout-curtains, to plaids, cushions or canapés
covers.
In addition, Resuinsa will decorate the bed and will provide the
bathroom textiles, with its Cotton EBO and Cotton PLUS collections.
The first is made from ecological, biological and organic
cotton that have been grown without insecticides or chemical fertilizers.
Cotton Plus uses the same cotton, but also incorporates
40% post-industrial cotton, that is, the remains of cotton yarns
and fabrics that have been discarded in the cutting process.
With sustainability in the spotlight, the goal is to create an experience
that serves to make the traveler aware of the importance of
the ecosystem where we find ourselves and the need to use materials
whose impact on the environment is as minimal as possible.
As a result, Carmela Martí and Resuinsa have committed to this
philosophy of ecological consumption that offers green alternatives
to the hotel sector. An industry that generates tons of textile
waste every year and that has many opportunities to adapt to the
United Nations SDGs.(Sustainable Development Goals).
