us from their studio in Barcelona the balance between functionality, aesthetics and warmth of their products.
How did you make your way in the world of
design to find work with firms like Vibia or
Viccarbe?
There is no formula, the truth is that it is a
long and complicated road. The most difficult
thing is to find a company to trust your work
without knowing you, then over time you gain
experience and above all a resume. It is different
to presenting your design to a company
but without any other product on the market
than it is presenting yourself with a catalogue
of products that validate your skills and your
work. In the end it is a mixture of tenacity and
effort, which are not always valued fairly.
Working as industrial designers since 2004,
what evolution do you see in the habitat and
design business sector in our country?
The market has globalized in recent years
and has forced many designers to leave their
comfort zone in order to be competitive. The
final result is very positive, we currently enjoy
a good representation in the international
market.
What do you think of Valencia as the 2022
world capital of design?
It is a matter of pride that Valencia hosts the
2022 World Design Capital, we must bear in
mind that it is the capital of a community
whose industrial fabric is decidedly committed
to design. Viccarbe, Andreu World, Gandia
Blasco, Porcelanosa, Vondom, Inclass, Sancal,
Capdell, Actiu, Punt, etc… They are some of
the leading companies in national design. In
addition to the many design studios that have
been created there. We believe that there is genuine
recognition and that it will undoubtedly
help to give greater visibility and repercussion
both to the city and to the surrounding industry.
Was it easy for you to access foreign publishers
like Famo or Paola Lenti?
The truth is that it was not easy, but neither is
accessing a new national client. The difficulty
