have been baptized as ‘forgotten libraries ‘, or pop-up elements, such as
our early riser breakfast inspired by the old street carts from the 1920s.
And that reading space becomes the leading element at Sercotel Ayala,
with the large library that runs through the bar and living area, a
wooden piece of furniture that plays with the geometry, light that have
been created from its own background, surrounding and welcoming
the visitor.
In the reception, blue is the protagonist, the setting that configures
the space, recalling the Cantabrian Sea and the estuary. The countertop
plays with volumes and tones, graphite and wood, crowned by an
unusual lamp, which represents a gesture, as does the entire hotel, to
industrial aesthetics.
And in the bed-rooms blue and sand tones are coordinated with elegant
compositions of undoubted urban and serene aesthetics forming the
common denominator throughout all the typologies.
The Sercotel Hotel Groups has inaugurated this new hotel and has announced
two projects in the near future in Gran Canaria and Valencia.
Sonia Agudo, director of the Quality and Product department, set outs
the group’s philosophy regarding the interior design of its hotels: “We
consider that one of our maxims is to respect the concept spirit of each
establishment, not to aim for all hotels to be clones of one other, but
rather that each has its own personality, that the story of each property
serves as a link to the brands of the chain but in such a way that we
do not eliminate the ‘soul’ that makes the difference in our hotels. The
development of each new hotel or each renovation is carried out by our
partners, Requena and Plaza, with whom we have collaborated for years
with excellent results. It is a team effort of which we are very proud”.
