43 In 2014 Resuinsa was the first company in Spain to obtain the
STeP certification, which audits and issues OEKO-TEX and which is renewable
every three years. This year the company has renewed this accreditation
for the second consecutive three-year period. STeP enables a
comprehensive and reliable analysis of the scope of sustainability in six
areas: chemicals management, environmental protection, environmental
management, health and safety, social responsibility, and quality. This
sets it apart from other systems that, for the most part, only take into
account certain individual aspects of sustainability.
According to Félix Martí, CEO of Resuinsa, “this renovation represents
an important added value, since it is a certification system for manufacturing
companies involved in the textile chain that certifies sustainable
production in a transparent and clear manner”. In fact, it carries out a
long process of strict audits and certifications during the three years of
validity in all stages of the manufacturing process: spinning, weaving,
dyeing, cutting and making. The dynamic development of the STeP certification
allows Resuinsa to enjoy continuous improvement in terms of
environmental protection and corporate social responsibility, as well as in
its performance and effectiveness.

Global pact for sustainability
In 2020, Resuinsa became part of the United Nations Global Compact,
the largest corporate sustainability initiative for the world with more
than 12,500 entities and a presence in more than 160 countries based
on the 10 universal human rights principles, labour, the environment
and anti-corruption.
The companies that form part of this pact align strategies and operations
with universal principles, as well as measures that promote social
objectives. These are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for
eradicating poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring prosperity for all.
Challenges that must be met before the international meeting of world
leaders of the 2030 Agenda, and that are already part of Resuinsa’s
DNA.
The company is aware that each gesture adds to the path of building a
world in which social inequalities are reduced and poverty is eradicated
on our planet, which must be sustainable, because stopping climate
change is everyone’s job.
